Hennessey dials in 1,000 hp for 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor Rt

Ford’s new 2023 F-150 Raptor R offers plenty of performance right out of the box, but Hennessey Performance Engineering plans to take things up a notch.

On Tuesday, the Texas tuner announced the new VelociRaptoR 1000 upgrade, which boosts output to a hypercar-worthy 1,000 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. The final numbers will be announced closer to the debut, in early 2023.

Hennessey already has plenty of experience with the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 under the hood of the F-150 Raptor R. The base V-8 with a flat-crank and 2.7-liter supercharger makes 700 hp and 640. lb-ft, but Hennessey built more than 1,200-hp versions of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which features the same V-8.

For the VelociRaptoR 1000, Hennessey adds a larger 3.8-liter supercharger, a new supercharger belt and an improved fuel system.

The company also makes modifications to other areas of the vehicle, similar to those found on the vehicle Hennessey’s other VelociRaptor upgrades. These include a new front and rear fascia, front lamp bar, graphics package, and 20-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch off-road tires. The truck also comes with unique badging, including a build plate with a serial number. Hennessey did not say how many examples will be available.

Interested customers can order the VelociRaptoR 1000 through Hennessey or participating Ford dealerships. Pricing information has not been released. The standard F-150 Raptor R starts at $109,145, including a $1,795 destination charge.
