Barrett-Jackson Collector car auctions highlights the unprecedented demand for Resto-Mod SUVs with a lineup of spectacularly built Ford Broncos and Chevy Blazers as part of the 2023 Scottsdale Auction at WestWorld of Scottsdale, January 21-29, 2023. No Reserve for a Custom 1970 Ford Bronco (Item 1340) nicknamed “Maverick,” a collaboration between Tre5 Customs, Ikandy Paintworks, and Paradise Customs, and a custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer (1422.1. item) finished in PPG “Mint my Mind” and Mercedes Cirrus White.

Lot 1422.1 – 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Custom SUV

“Featuring the classic styling of 1970s sport utility vehicles and the impeccable craftsmanship seen from today’s builders, the Resto-Mod market is thriving with the popularity of these incredible Broncos and Blazers.” Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “I have both Resto-Mod and late model Broncos, and the quality of these SUVs crossing the auction block in Scottsdale will be a great addition to anyone looking to add one of these popular vehicles to their collection.”

Item 1340 a custom 1970 Ford Bronco 4×4 nicknamed “Maverick” that was recently completed after over 1,400 hours of fabrication, bodywork and paint by Tre5 Customs, Ikandy Paintworks and Paradise Customs graduated together. Power comes from a Gen 3 5.0L Coyote crate engine mated to a Ford 10-speed automatic transmission. Called Raised Brittany Blue by the consignor, the finish also features a gray painted stripe embedded in the paint to match the gray hardtop. Also completed is the same trio deal 1340.1. item, another custom Ford Bronco 4×4 nicknamed “Goose”. The Goose was unveiled at the 2022 SEMA Show and, like the Maverick, received a 1,400-hour build. Shown in raised sea foam green, the Goose has a white painted stripe to match the white hardtop.

Lot 1340 – 1970 Ford Bronco 4×4 “Maverick”

A custom 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer (1422.1. item). Finished in PPG “Mint my Mind” and Mercedes Cirrus White, the Blazer retains its truck-style side cladding with a hand-applied pinstripe on the “Chevrolet” on the tailgate. It’s powered by a GM crate, 6.2-liter, 500-hp LS engine with a Hughes 4L80E transmission and rides on a set of 17-inch KMC beadlock wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KM3 tires. 1311.1. item a custom 1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer powered by a new GM Performance LS3 crate engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission with a rebuilt NP205 2-speed transmission. Finished in original Medium Bronze, the Blazer rides on 17×9 Pro Comp wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires and sits on a new 4-inch Rough Country lift kit.
