Inaugural New Orleans Auction: Barrett-Jackson Teams Up with Philanthropists Megan and George Shinn to Support Maui Wildfire Victims

Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions will auction a 1932 Chevrolet Woody custom wagon nicknamed “Honolulu Lulu” to support Samaritan’s Purse and their disaster relief efforts in Maui during the inaugural New Orleans Auction, September 28-30 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Donated by American businessman and philanthropist George Shinn and his wife Megan, the vehicle will cross Barrett-Jackson’s auction block in New Orleans on Saturday, September 30 with one hundred percent of the hammer price going directly to the nonprofit Samaritan’s Purse and their relief efforts on the ground in Maui following the devastating August wildfires.

“We’re proud to once again work with George, Megan and Samaritan’s Purse to support those in need,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We’ve had the privilege of working with them several times over the last two years and have raised more than $2.7 million for victims of tragedies and natural disasters all over the world. Our fellow Americans in Hawaii need our help now more than ever and we look forward to continuing to support the great work being done at the hands of Samaritan’s Purse during our inaugural New Orleans Auction later this month.”

The 1932 Chevrolet Woody custom wagon nicknamed “Honolulu Lulu” is powered by a small-block Chevrolet engine with a Turbo 350 transmission. Its custom wood interior features custom graphics of the car on each rear interior panel and the exterior features a Yellow Pearl finish along with a hidden trailer hitch concealed behind the license place. This hot rod also comes with a matching trailer named “Lil’ Lulu,” with the names depicted by graphics on the rear of each.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine. The sale of this charity car will mark the third time since April 2022 that Megan and George Shinn have donated a vehicle and worked with Barrett-Jackson to provide a platform to raise much-needed funds and awareness for this exceptional organization.
