Hoonigan is planning for the future without Ken Block

On Wednesday, Hoonigan’s team posted a video on YouTube to discuss the following after the loss of co-founder and automotive icon Ken Block.

Hoonigan’s co-founder and Block’s business partner, Brian Scotto, said the team should have started the year by traveling to Australia to film ‘This vs. subversion of their video series “That”.

The trip was then cancelled Block died in a snowmobile accident on January 2.

In recent weeks, Scotto said the Hoonigan team discussed the future of the project and concluded it was time to make changes to the project.

As a result, the new YouTube show, which takes place on Wednesdays, will be like “hanging out about the stupid things we do,” Hoonigan Hertech’s Eugene Jr. said.

The new show will have a similar feel to Hoonigan’s older show, “Daily Transmission,” which faded as the team evolved.

Another show, “Touches”, will not continue.

Ron Zaras noted that after taking a step back, the team wants to get back to their roots—crazy, silly stuff—while still making “This Vs. that’ and other popular shows.

“Buildings” are making a comeback, but not crazy constructions that people can’t make in their garages. The Hoonigan Project’s car channel is also returning.

Block’s family continues with other projects. Since Block’s death, they’ve founded the 43 Institute — with the goal of “creating opportunities for the exceptionally motivated” — and posted a makeshift website that indicated updates were coming soon. The website hasn’t been updated, and Hoonigan’s crew made no mention of this fund in their video, other than splashing out the 43i.org website URL during the opening.
