The 2023 Detroit Auto Show will feature twice as many brands as last year

The Detroit Auto Show, officially the North American International Auto Show, which finally returned last year after a break caused by the pandemic, but far from advertised by extravagant organizers. Many brands were absent and those in attendance often had makeshift stands, leaving plenty of bare walls on display.

That should change with the 2023 Detroit Auto Show, which runs from September 13-24 and will feature new attractions and more vehicles.

According to the organizers, the number of participants will double. They will include all brands from Ford, General Motors and Stellantis, with Ford, Jeep and Ram hosting driving demonstration tracks.

A track dedicated to electric vehicles will also be present. Visitors will be able to test drive a variety of electric vehicles on a winding track that includes a speedway over 300 feet long.

Forum-like meetings are also planned to discuss mobility topics, which will once again be open to startups wishing to convey their message.

While some of the attractions will be located in outdoor venues, most of the action will continue to take place at Detroit’s Huntington Place (formerly TCF Center), which has hosted the show since 1965.

The disruptions caused by the pandemic and the decline in demand for traditional auto shows, partly due to the rise of online unveilings, have resulted in many shows around the world being modified or completely revamped.

Germany’s most important motor show was renewed in 2021, among other things, it was held in Munich for the first time instead of its traditional home, Frankfurt. The renewed presentation also placed more emphasis on urban and sustainable mobility solutions, as opposed to the luxury and high-performance cars that traditionally dominated the presentation.

The annual Geneva Motor Show was also affected by the epidemic, many shows were cancelled. This leads the organizer in 2021 striking a deals with the Qatar Tourism Authority to share the host of the show between its traditional home of Qatar and Switzerland. The first presentation in Qatar is planned for October.
