Verstappen wins the 2023 F1 Spanish Grand Prix

Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing proved unstoppable on Sunday a 2023 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix.

The reigning champion was in a race of his own in a revised race Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunyaleads from pole position and managed to set the fastest lap of the day.

Mercedes-Benz AMG’s Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were the surprise performers, as the Mercedes duo showed a boost in speed that had been missing since the 2021 season. However, they were still well off Verstappen’s pace. Hamilton finished 24 seconds behind Verstappen to take second, with Russell a further eight seconds back in third.

Verstappen was joined by Ferrari’s local hero Carlos Sainz at the front of the grid. Verstappen started better, after which Sainz went into attack mode. Despite trying to overtake Verstappen in the first corner, Sainz was unable to get the better of his Red Bull rival and returned to the chase.
