The world famous A good tree Speed Festival is coming in July and 30th The incarnation of this British event is planned to showcase history, new introductions, celebrations, meetings and even point towards the future of transport. While it’s worth celebrating 30 years of the Festival of Speed, the theme for the 2023 event is Goodwood 75, as it’s the 75th.th anniversary since Goodwood Motor Circuit first opened its doors.
The Supercar and First Glance Paddock offers a look at “the most innovative and anticipated vehicles in the automotive industry”, with more than 100 world exclusives, debuts, introductions and more. Expected public debuts include the Caterham Electric Seven, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Porsche 718 Spyder RS and the UK debut of the BMW 5 Series.
Goodwood Hill welcomes visitors on Thursday the 13thth waiting for Sunday’s race. Even better, the competitors practice on Thursdays, so the visitors have a chance to play spectator.
Visitors on Thursday will also be able to take part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed Central Feature, a celebration of Porsche’s 75th anniversary. Will the 917 appear? We don’t have any inside information, but it sounds totally appropriate, innit?
All the featured entertainment is not just that terra firma, remember, as the Red Arrows, the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, strut their stuff in the atmosphere. Besides that fans can enter the competition to win lunch with the Red Arrows at Goodwood.
The Speed Festival is also home to the McLaren Formula One team, as well as Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One, Scuderia Ferrari Formula One and Williams Racing. If racing tastes lean towards two-wheelers, Ducati Lenovo, GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3, LCR Honda and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing will also be part of the celebration.
There will be a relaxing respite of automotive elegance on Sunday with Cartier Style et Luxe, concours d’elegance. You will find the the cream of the creams cars in this event, almost like the British version of Amelia Island, but in the British Isles. It will be interesting to see what cars take part as the mix of cars in the UK is different. Maybe a Minerva?
Luddites should skip this section: Goodwood hosts the Future Lab exhibition featuring a selection of 20 pioneering electric vehicle companies, as well as an Electric Avenue display of the current crop of electric vehicles. Looking ahead has never been so exciting!
