Velocity modern classics, the industry leader in classic vehicle upgrades, has announced the Velocity Mustang Fastback as the latest addition to its Signature Series. The highly sought after 1967-68 Ford Mustang Fastback has been beautifully restored to seamlessly blend the iconic styling of the classic with the modern components found in late Mustangs. Highlights of the Velocity Mustang include a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine with a 10-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission, a Roadster Shop chassis, and modern conveniences like Vintage Air climate control and a RetroSound Bluetooth stereo. Under the hood, the Velocity Signature Series Mustang is powered by a Gen III Coyote 5.0 engine that produces 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the wheels through a 10R80 automatic transmission or a T-56 six-speed manual transmission for those who want more control. The Velocity Mustang Fastback is optimized for performance with a proprietary coil system and custom headers, while a custom stainless exhaust with Borla mufflers delivers an aggressive sound.
The Mustang rides on an all-new Roadster Shop Mustang SPEC chassis that provides exceptional stability and handling. Rack and pinion power steering, front wishbones and SPEC independent front suspension contribute to a responsive ride. A four-link rear suspension with front and rear adjustable Fox coilovers allows the Mustang to ride better than ever before. Ford’s 9-inch rear axle with a 3.73 ratio boosts performance, while 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels shod with 255/45 ZR17 Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires ensure traction whether you’re cruising or on the track. Baer four-piston calipers with 11-inch rotors and a Bosch Electric iBooster make sure the Mustang stops on a dime.
The exterior of the Velocity Signature Series Mustang Fastback is finished in unique BASF Glasurit paint colors and is available with optional painted racing stripes for an even more pronounced look. A vented hood with indicator lights helps keep engine temperatures down and gives it a race-ready look. Chrome accessories, color-matched painted firewall and chrome bumpers highlight and emphasize the Mustang’s classic appearance. Truck-Lite LED headlights light up the street at night, and sequential LED taillights add a touch of modernity to the pony’s back. Brand new Ringbrothers glass and weather seals and billet hood hinges round out the exterior features.
Inside the Fastback, Velocity’s in-house design team has created a luxurious cockpit full of nostalgia and modern convenience. The Procar’s front bucket seats provide comfort and support, while the fixed rear seat offers more space. Heated and ventilated seats and premium leather options are available for an even more luxurious ride. An Alcantara headliner, molded carpet with Velocity floor mats and wrapped door panels provide a sumptuous and inviting atmosphere, while a Dynamat muffler keeps road noise at bay. Climate control is provided by the Vintage Air air conditioning system. The RetroSound head unit spins tunes through four Focal speakers and a subwoofer for immersive sound. Optional billet interior and exterior packages are available for those who want a more refined look. The classic wooden steering wheel and the IDIDIT tilting steering column give the cockpit a vintage feel. Dakota Digital instruments and polished metal and chrome interior components complete the interior details.
For those looking for speed, Velocity offers premium performance equipment in the Street Series. It features upgrades like a carbon fiber driveshaft, two-way adjustable Fox coilovers, and larger 18-inch Forgeline wheels. The exterior of the Street Series comes standard with painted racing stripes, a paint-matched engine bay and the Velocity Billet Exterior Package. Inside, the Velocity offers a custom leather interior and Recaro front bucket seats. The interior also gets the billet treatment with a new Sparc Industries billet steering wheel, billet door handles, window cranks, window pullers and instrument knobs. Finally, the Mustang is equipped with an upgraded double-din head unit with Apple CarPlay, a premium Focal sound system and a backup camera for added safety.
