The road to the Tokyo Motor Show

The road to the Tokyo Motor Show

It’s time for the Tokyo Motor Show! But of course you already know that…

TAS is a unique event that every Japanese tuning fan should try at least once in their life. Of course, that’s easier said than done, but fear not, we’re here to bring it to you everybody during the week of the Tokyo Motor Show.

When I say “Tokyo Auto Show Week,” I mean it. The occasion extends beyond the halls of Makuhari Messe as gatherings and tours take place in and around the city.

It’s been three long years since I last attended TAS, so I really wanted to attend this year’s sex. During that time, however, I moved quite a distance from Tokyo, and even further from the Chiba convention center.

So I did what anyone visiting Japan for the Tokyo Auto Salon would do and booked a hotel near the venue. I could have caught the train, but traveling in Project Rough seemed like a much better idea. The long drive would also be the perfect excuse to get my ER34 Skyline in peak shape ahead of time.

However, life somehow got in the way and the next thing I knew it was time to travel to Tokyo. Of course I didn’t Any preparatory work.

I needn’t have worried though, as Project Rough performed flawlessly on the road, including being stuck in traffic for hours after a major building fire closed a major road.

I finally checked into my hotel and the sensible thing to do would have been to get some rest before the early morning start of the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon. But TAS is a week of meeting friends, cruising and of course speed hunt, so sleep was the last thing on my mind.

Stay tuned for more.
